Nomination and Election Notice GCC/IBT Local 72-C  Nominations Nominations for the office of President, Secretary-Treasurer, Vice Presidents of Pressman (2), Vice President of Pre-Press, Vice President of Press Assistants, Vice President of Bookbinder, Vice President of Bindery Assistants, and Vice President of Specialty Workers, Recording Secretary and Sargeant-in-Arms, Wage Scale Committee Members (2), Laws Committee (2) And Finance Committee (3) will be accepted from the floor on Saturday, September 11th, 2021, at 9:00 am, at the Union Hall, 6037 Baltimore Ave, Riverdale, MD 20737. The term of office will run for three years beginning November 1, 2021. Candidates elected as President and Secretary-Treasurer will also represent our Members at all GCC/IBT International Conferences and Official Events. Nominations may also be made in writing and must be received by the Secretary-Treasurer, Janice Bort, at the GCC/IBT Local 72-C Union Office, at 6037 Baltimore Ave, Riverdale, MD 20737, by (no later than) 5 pm, Friday, September 10th, 2021. Nominations must be seconded at the Nomination Meeting or if by writing must be received by Secretary-Treasurer, Janice Bort, at the GCC/IBT Local 72-C Office (no later than) 5 pm, Friday, September 10th, 2021. All Candidates must accept the Nomination at the Nomination Meeting or, if not in attendance, submit a written acceptance to Secretary-Treasurer, Janice Bort, no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, September 13th, 2021.                                 
The Election will be conducted on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021, and Wednesday, October 13th, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm by Referendum Vote at the Chapel’s inside the plants where members work, immediately before, immediately after, or during their shift. If you are not able to vote at the shop where you work, voting will be allowed at the Union Hall, at 6037 Baltimore Ave, Riverdale, MD, 20737, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Tuesday, October 12th and on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021. A Mail Ballot Vote will be conducted for all Associate or Out of Work Members, and for our Chapel’s that consist of five or less members. Ballots will be mailed on Tuesday, September 14th, for the Associate or Out of Work Members and small shops with five or less Members, to the last known correct address of the Member. Please make sure the Union Office has the correct address on file if you are an active member of Local 72-C. Ballots must be received by Election Day on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, by 4:00 pm, at the designated Post Office Box, in the envelope provided, if you are voting by mail. All Active Members September, 2021, Dues must be paid by Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, prior to 4:00 pm, to be eligible to vote. All Active Members on Dues Check-Off with their Chapel’s as of September 30th, 2021, are eligible to vote. Absentee Voting by mail shall be permitted only upon written application of Members who are ill or absent from the area where they are normally employed at the time of voting or if they work during an off hour shift as per election rules. Absentee Ballot Applications must state the reason for the application. All Absentee Ballot Applications must be received by 4:00 pm, Thursday, September 30th, 2021. Absentee Ballots must be received no later than 4:00 pm, Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, at the designated Post Office Box. Detailed Election Rules and Regulations for Nominations, Elections, and Election Protests will be posted at the shops, and are posted on the Local’s Web Site: www.printing-union-local72c.com, and can be mailed to your home by request by calling the Union Office at 301-699-1202 or by e-mailing your request to local72c@msn.com. If you work during night hours or during hours where the Referendum vote is not before or after or during your shift, you have the option of requesting an Absentee Ballot, or coming to any polling place, at any of the shops during voting hours or you can vote at the Union Hall during voting hours. All voting hours will be posted on union bulletin boards.
